Although often confused with oyster mushrooms, the elm oyster mushroom (Hypsizygus ulmarius) belongs to a different genus. This delightful edible mushroom is easily recognizable, making it a fantastic choice for beginner foragers.

Elm oyster mushrooms thrive on deciduous trees, particularly elms. In Latin, ‘hypsi’ refers to their growth high up on trees, while ‘ulmarius’ indicates their preference for elm trees. Found throughout temperate regions, these mushrooms often grow in small groups or dense clusters.

Grows best in cold temperature. Local mushroom gowers prefer this strain in winter for commercial production. Order delivery will take minimum of 12 days from date of order as we prepare fresh spawns for every order to ensure perfect age and strength of the mycelia for better yield.
